A?long time ago, in a land far away, in the year 2000, John McCain was a die-hard maverick, a staunch defender of voter rights, the slayer of corporate lobbyists and demolisher of greedy, capitalist campaigns - an odd stance for a Republican presidential hopeful.

Walking past the Cadena Transfer Center on the way to the cafeteria, it's easy to miss the sticker placed in the window. The simple design consists of a purple triangle with the words 'A.B. 540 Safe Zone' placed above it.
Cadena Transfer Center Director Lily Espinoza explains that the sticker is a symbol of the center's mission of diversity, an attempt to create a sense of understanding and dialogue for the marginalized groups on campus.
