Coming home proved to be the perfect remedy for Valley College as they returned to Monarch Stadium after two consecutive road losses, post a 35-10 victory over the West Los Angeles Wildcats. The win was a result of Valley's most well-rounded game of the season, and pulls their record up to 2-3.
As the Ventura College Pirates matched up against the Fullerton College Hornets, the Pirates prevailed 9-8, despite getting a late match comeback from the Hornets in the Men's water polo game.
The Pirates played a solid game all around in the victory, as a well maintained offensive attack was backed up by a very strong defensive showing.
Fullerton College was able to play spoiler as they defeated host, the Orange Coast College Pirates, 34-27, in the Southern Conference opener Saturday night. The Hornets entered the game having suffered an emotional loss the week before to College of the Canyons.

The Cal Poly soccer team wrapped up the successful weekend in a big way Sunday.
After a hard fought match Friday against Cal State Monterey Bay that resulted in a double overtime draw, the Broncos rebounded with a 2-0 victory over San Francisco State.
The win against the Gators was well deserved as the Broncos out shot the Gators by the tally of 12-4.

The Chicago Cubs were ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0, and Ryan Dempster was on the mound. With a 1-2 count, Dempster threw a change up to Loney that was deposited in the center field bleachers for a grand slam.
